Over the years, successive presidents and office‑bearers of the Association have engaged actively with both state and central governments to secure support: from power‑loom electricity subsidies to access raw materials, to workshops integrating top designers with local weavers under the national “Make in India” initiative

A significant meeting was held at the Commissioner’s Hall with Varanasi Commissioner Mr. Raj Lingam and District Magistrate Mr. Satyendra Kumar, focusing on highlighting the TFC (Trade Facilitation Centre). The Banarasi Vastra Udyog Association actively participated in this meeting. The association primarily suggested organizing regular exhibitions and expos of Banarasi sarees at the TFC, while also raising concerns regarding the issues faced by traders of the Chowk area. All key departmental officers were present at the meeting. The Commissioner also extended an invitation to the Association to participate in the upcoming exhibitions and expos.

BVU Association presently serves as the backbone of Varanasi’s textile sector—connecting the community, advocating for its members, and supporting heritage continuity. Looking ahead, they are well-poised to embrace digital tools, skill-building programs, sustainability efforts, policy influence, and financial support mechanisms to reinforce and expand their impact.
