The Banarasi Vastra Udyog Sangh, as it was initially called, undertook numerous initiatives to safeguard the interests of the textile businessmen:

• Opposed sales tax and trade tax to protect the unorganized industry from excessive regulation.
• Advocated for the preservation of traditional craftsmanship and resisted external pressures that could disrupt the industry’s heritage.
